For the white-tailed deer, attentiveness
is a matter of life or death. Attentiveness is extremely important
for us, too. We have to be attentive to those around us in order
to learn and to live.
- The deer’s ears swivel like radar antennas,
enabling it to focus its hearing in a particular direction.
- The deer’s eyes are spread wide apart,
allowing it to see almost completely around itself.
- A deer can focus on nearby and distant objects
at the same time, seeing what it is eating while keeping a watch
for predators.
